Cultural Center
The Corner at Whitman-Walker

The Corner is dedicated to cultural expression as a life-force that allows all to recognize the world in its diversity and complexity, that encourages all to acknowledge and affirm otherness in all its forms as an essential part of existence, and that conveys a broader understanding of what needs to be learned and practiced in support of individual, communal, social and political empowerment and justice.

The Corner at Whitman-Walker

1701 14th Street, NW

The Corner at Whitman-Walker is an exciting new cultural center in Washington, DC. Its physical space was at one time the lobby of the Whitman-Walker Clinic which served LGBTQ community members who needed a space to receive stigma-free care and treatment – in some cases facing their own death due to HIV. Now the space has been transformed to bring different ideas of culture and diverse communities into contact with one another.

Exhibition Hours: Thurs-Fri – 2pm-7pm; Sat-Sun – 12pm – 5pm

Closed until January 22, 2021 due to COVID-19 restrictions.
